For the Good

We appreciated a week off of chemo last week! Audrey has been tolerating it all very well, but the medicine does tend to upset her belly, so it is nice for her to have that break. Overall we are thankful Audrey has been able to continue to do things she normally would. She has been going to school regularly and taking ballet 🩰 with her younger sister. It has been very sweet to see them bond together. Audrey stays very active and often asks to take family walks. We are thankful for her ongoing energy. Audrey had a chemo infusion this morning. We had been praying over her lab work and everything looked good today! Praise God for these answered prayers. In addition, Audrey had a follow up with her ENT surgeon to check on the healing process from her surgery several months ago and he said everything looks very good!  We know God is always on the move. He works all things for the good for those who love Him (Romans 2:28). We continue to trust God's plans for Audrey and our family....

Rejoice

Audrey finished up another day of chemo this morning - afternoon. She woke up with her belly feeling a little upset, but she continues to display strength and courage. She likes to talk more about what's going on. She has a deeper understanding of her medical needs.  Audrey will have the next Monday off chemo. She will get labs this Wednesday. Her ophthalmology appointment has been scheduled for April 7th. We are hopeful that with this appointment we will have more clarity about removing the cataract and hopefully getting her eye less blurry and more comfortable for her. The goal of this appointment will be to get a good look at what is going on. This past Sunday at church, Andrew was able to share our testimony throughout this journey. When you sum it up in a couple of minutes, it gives you a good reflection of God's comfort and love through all of this. We understand that this is our trial right now, but there are many other people going through other trials, they are just di...

Next Part of the Journey

We have been home for over a week now and it has been such a gift. The kids were quick to get back into a routine and we enjoyed the beautiful weather this past weekend. Much to be thankful for. Audrey started another round of chemotherapy today. With that said, we have started to discuss what chemotherapy will look like over the next year. With Audrey's relapse, we are now at a point where we just take things day by day and continue to pray for guidance and wisdom for what is best for Audrey. Right now we are just seeing how each cycle plays out which is Mondays, 2 weeks on, one week off, each month. That will help us determine what Audrey is able to tolerate while still being able to do what she loves and enjoys. We don't know what the future holds for Audrey and our prayer continues to be for complete healing and that Audrey would ultimately be cancer free. We don't know what the Lord's response is at this point, but we trust in his plans for Audrey and our family. O...

Home!

First off, we just want to thank all of you who prayed over Audrey and our family over the past several weeks. Everything went as good as we could have hoped for.  Audrey finished her last day of proton therapy this morning! She had a mini celebration afterwards with her proton team and our family :) We are so thankful to all of the folks who assisted and helped with Audrey's radiation. Everyone was amazing and so kind. And we made it home! We are all very happy to be home. We have met a lot of special people along this journey. In addition, our family, friends, church family, co workers, medical team, social media prayer warriors and the list goes on have been such a blessing. We thank God for these relationships. In the midst of it all, we see how amazing God is and how is working in and through people, it is truly beautiful.  We will continue to seek wisdom and guidance with removing Audrey's cataract. Audrey's oncologist said chemotherapy will resume, Monday, March 7....

Flexibility

This morning we were able to meet up with friends local to the area. It is always nice to see familiar faces! During our visit we learned the proton machine was down for the day, which has set Audrey's treatment back a day. Rather than leaving this Thursday morning, the plan is now to leave Friday after treatment. We are praying that things go smoothly the rest of the week. We would love to get back for the weekend, however, we are trusting in God's timing. We have been extremely grateful for the community here. We have made friends with some of the neighbors and the kids adore their friend nextdoor. We'd say then have a future penpal. A sweet neighbor even surprised us with a pizza delivery at dinnertime. It's the little things. We are simply reminded to find ways to show love to others. Proverbs 20:24 Mud, mud, mud. These kiddos love mud 💗

Home Stretch

Today sums up another full week of treatment, next week, 4 more treatments! Audrey is continuing to do well with everything. Her weight has remained the same, so there haven't been concerns! Thank you so much for praying over that.  Yesterday we were able to venture to the Great Wolf Lodge. The kids had a blast! Audrey and Benjamin conquered the big slides with Dad and Hannah loved the smaller slides as well. Thank you again for praying for us. At this time, we are asking for prayers for guidance and wisdom as we begin to pursue potentially removing the cataract from Audrey's left eye.  Promised Land- TobyMac Well, I've run this Earth for many years If there's one thing I know There's nowhere on this side o' Heaven Where streets are made o' gold I've long laid tell my grand illusions Lookin' toward the day that I'll be home I won't give up on this race Broken but I still have faith That this old life is all part of a plan And I can feel it in...

God is Faithful

After today Audrey will have 7 more treatments to go! Her skin is peeling a bit, and she does have some blisters in her mouth, but she has been able to eat with minimal irritation or discomfort. Huge praise! Audrey will have another medical check-up this week including a weight check. Our prayer has been for Audrey to maintain her weight in order to avoid a feeding tube. One day at a time, but we our asking for prayer over Audrey's weight. We have been enjoying our time as a family, we are looking forward to coming home soon. Thank you for praying over Audrey and our family. She continues to display strength.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39.
