For the Good

We appreciated a week off of chemo last week! Audrey has been tolerating it all very well, but the medicine does tend to upset her belly, so it is nice for her to have that break. Overall we are thankful Audrey has been able to continue to do things she normally would. She has been going to school regularly and taking ballet 🩰 with her younger sister. It has been very sweet to see them bond together. Audrey stays very active and often asks to take family walks. We are thankful for her ongoing energy.

Audrey had a chemo infusion this morning. We had been praying over her lab work and everything looked good today! Praise God for these answered prayers. In addition, Audrey had a follow up with her ENT surgeon to check on the healing process from her surgery several months ago and he said everything looks very good!

We know God is always on the move. He works all things for the good for those who love Him
(Romans 2:28). We continue to trust God's plans for Audrey and our family.
Pslam 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

We can put our hope in many things, but the only one we can put our hope in that endures forever, never changes,  and remains the same is Jesus, our King.
 Hebrews 13:8

Next up, Audrey will have chemo again next Monday as well as her Opthalmology appointment next Thursday. We ask for continued prayers for clarity and continued strength for Audrey. Again, thank you for praying for us. Your prayers sustain us.

Jesus remains the same 💛

On June 17th, we learned that the cancer Audrey has been battling for 5 years remains, this is after 2 years of chemo, 2 courses of radiation and local surgeries to remove it.  At this point her team has said there are no curative options. Chemotherapy and radiation could possibly slow the process down, but would likely pose more issues than help. Another extensive surgery could also slow down the process, but would only further complicate Audrey's eye and nose issues. We have decided to let Audrey enjoy life without intense medical intervention. We have had some tough decisions these last few weeks, and have cried tears, but have also been at peace with the fact Audrey's faith in Christ is strong. She has even spoken about heaven and our perfect bodies 💛 Audrey has been full of energy, playing, eating well and enjoying life as an 8 year old. While we don't know exactly what the future holds or the timeline, we will rest in the fact that Jesus is the same yesterday, today ...

Psalm 23

The  Lord  is my shepherd; I shall not want.   He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.     He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness f or his name's sake.- Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord continues to work in our family, encouraging us to focus on the day, the day that he has made and we can rejoice in that. He continues to prove his faithfulness, and even in a difficult season, he continues to provide; let us not confuse this by the world's standards, but by Lord's blessing of love, by disciplining our minds to focus faith.  Audrey is doing exceptionally well despite her diagnosis. Each day she is filled with happiness and an eagerness to do well in school. Audrey is looking forward to celebrating her 9th birthday and is planning what she'd like her special day to look like. We have met with the pediatric palliative care team and Audrey made a positive connection with the nurse. We ...

Psalm 91:4

Audrey continues to do well. She loves school, takes daily hikes in the woods, sleeps and plays with her kitten, Coco and spends a good amount of time playing with her siblings. We can see Audrey's growth- her mind, her interests, her zest for life. Each week she is excited to learn her Bible verses and remains diligent in her school work. This is such a praise that she is independent in this way. Audrey had her 6th nasal endoscopy mid February. This past procedure went very well, minimal blood loss and therefore, Audrey was able to come home the same day! Being able to come home the same day was truly a gift. We know the future is unknown, all we can do is focus on the day-each day the Lord gives to us-we can rejoice and be glad in it. Disciplining our minds and understanding, knowing that the work and trials we endure now, will help shape us and prepare us for eternity with Jesus- it is by grace we have been saved through faith. Set your hearts and minds on what Jesus has accompl...
