She continues to have her own routine, which brings comfort to her day. Her overall health continues to decline. Not much fo...

Rejoice Always-Acknowledge His Ways

Overall Audrey's health has continued to decline some these past few weeks. Audrey is still eating and drinking fairly well, doesn't complain of much pain, but does have occasional discomfort around her left eye. We are thankful this is minimal and seems to come and go. Audrey had some pretty intense light sensitivity about a week or two ago, but that has seemed to let up some.  Audrey does have random incidences when the tumor bleeds, but the bleeding has been quite minimal. Hospice is now coming once a week. Audrey has been very comfortable with these visits and doesn't mind them- giving thanks for that :) Audrey's days are pretty low key. She enjoys resting with Coco, our cat, and some gentle playing with her little sister. This is usually stuffed animals in Emma's room each morning. She will occasionally do some school work, enjoys playing Animal Crossing (a video game) and watching a show or two. She loves routine- Audrey still enjoys going to church on Sundays...

Eternal Perspective

We have officially returned from Michigan and we were incredibly thankful for this time together as a family. Overall Audrey had a good time. Audrey has dealt with some bleeding over the last few weeks around the tumor site. We have added some medical intervention, which seems to help. She is also dealing with some difficulty sleeping. Hospice care will now make weekly visits with the advancement of the tumor. Audrey's overall energy has decreased quite significantly over the last week. She still enjoys order and her schedule :)  Audrey is still pain free, so we can rejoice in that. She is eating and drinking normally, another praise. We are fixing are minds and hearts on Christ Jesus, remembering this is all very temporary. Death is something we will all experience and for those who know and love Jesus as the personal savior will experience the ultimate peace in eternity with Him.  It is important to us as followers of Christ that we highlight this truth because we have...

He is With You

About a month has passed since our last update-Audrey continues to do well despite daily challenges. The cancer is continuing to spread, unfortunately this is something we can see visually. The tumor is now covering nearly her entire left eye and continues to grow outward. Audrey has not complained to this day. Her strength is inspiring to say the least.  Audrey will have another nasal endoscopy this upcoming Tuesday. We are thankful this will likely relieve her sinuses. We are still under the impression nothing can be done externally. Palliative care has visited to simply put eyes on Audrey. We have been incredibly thankful she continues to have no pain. We have even visited with a social worker who has helped make a meaningful craft to build memories. Audrey continues to play outside, make beautiful drawings, go on walks, rest with Coco, read books on the couch, play Zelda and Mario Cart with her sisters and the list goes on. SO thankful for that. We have decided to pursue ...

Take Heart

Audrey continues to do well and is one happy gal. She has been enjoying swimming in our little pool, park play dates, picnics and really all of the fun summer has to offer.  Recently at Audrey's last nasal endoscopy, the surgeon could see that the tumor is starting to take up more space. While some tumor could be removed to improve Audrey's breathing, some cannot due to it's proximity to her brain and eye.   A MRI scan showed the growth of the tumor has become more significant. With that said, we spoke with Audrey's medical team and an aggressive surgery is not recommended when weighing the likelihood of resurrecting all of the cancer, and the extent of what would have to be removed would be quite aggressive. However, we will continue to pursue cleaning out her nasal passage as needed. Hospice will likely become a larger player in Audrey's care in the near future.  We have been so grateful for Audrey's last year. She has been doing so well despite the tumor gro...

Jesus said to him "I am the way"

Audrey continues to display strength and endurance. She had another endoscopy early May; preventive measures before we left for Myrtle Beach and a beautiful wedding for her Auntie Rachel and Uncle Brian. The entire trip was a blessing. Family memories made and a time of rest, away from life's daily routine and responsibilities. We give the good Lord all the praise, honor and glory for these opportunities.  Audrey is scheduled to have another endoscopy June 18th. She will finish up third grade at the end of May and wrapped up another successful year in ballet. We are so grateful for this time we have with Audrey-she is a true gift. Each evening she pours a cup of chocolate milk and I have a cup of cappuccino- we sit outside no matter the weather and chat-these moments are fleeting, I know, but salvation, which only comes from Jesus is eternal- Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me . " John 14:6 thankful for ...

Abide

John 15:4-9 "Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. When we abide in the Lord, and dwell in His truth, we can stand firm in who He is. He never changes. When life's seasons change, the diagnosis keeps coming back, we can rest in the fact that Jesus remains the same. We can surrender all things to him and we can do all th...
