Each Day His Mercies are New

Our family has been extremely grateful and blessed by our community since Audrey's passing late November. We have found meaningful ways to keep Audrey's memory close; we have several pictures albums the kids can look at, Audrey's art sprinkled throughout our home, and prayers of thanksgiving for the time we had with our sweet girl.

Recently, our local school offered to make a bench in Audrey's memory. We were able to choose the color and plaque statement to represent Audrey. Audrey's favorite color was a "soft" blue, so we chose blue. The bench is newly located at the school in the playground area. Audrey's friends and classmates will be able to sit and remember Audrey's name- what a loving act of kindness.

As we move forward in this life without Audrey, we truly miss her presence. She was apart of our daily rhythm and her presence was a gift. We know many things in this world are fleeting and temporary. Life seasons come and go, but the word of God remains. We continue to cling to His truth and we are reminded of the Lord's sovereignty over all things.

We thank you all again for your love and kindness throughout this journey. Our prayer is to walk in Spirit and truth. As we approach Easter Sunday, Christ's death and resurrection is a reminder each day of what a gift we have been given, eternal life for those who call Jesus their Lord and Savior. We have victory in Christ and all in God's timing there will be victory over this earth.

We Walk By Faith

Audrey is continuing to hold on with the strength that is left. She is tired, weak and sleeps most of the time. We can continue to praise God she has no pain. Audrey has her routine, though most of it consists of sleeping. She enjoys a little chocolate milk, a yogurt smoothie, some applesauce and maybe some small bites of food here and there. With that said, eating and drinking is becoming more difficult, but Audrey manages with some assistance and help. Benjamin, Hannah and Emma continue to do well with this season we are in. They display loving hearts, asking if Audrey needs anything, praying for her and just sitting near her. Eternal Perspective

We have officially returned from Michigan and we were incredibly thankful for this time together as a family. Overall Audrey had a good time. Audrey has dealt with some bleeding over the last few weeks around the tumor site. We have added some medical intervention, which seems to help. She is also dealing with some difficulty sleeping. Hospice care will now make weekly visits with the advancement of the tumor. Audrey's overall energy has decreased quite significantly over the last week. She still enjoys order and her schedule :) Audrey is still pain free, so we can rejoice in that. She is eating and drinking normally, another praise. We are fixing are minds and hearts on Christ Jesus, remembering this is all very temporary. Death is something we will all experience and for those who know and love Jesus as the personal savior will experience the ultimate peace in eternity with Him. He is With You

About a month has passed since our last update-Audrey continues to do well despite daily challenges. The cancer is continuing to spread, unfortunately this is something we can see visually. The tumor is now covering nearly her entire left eye and continues to grow outward. Audrey has not complained to this day. Her strength is inspiring to say the least. Audrey will have another nasal endoscopy this upcoming Tuesday. We are thankful this will likely relieve her sinuses. We are still under the impression nothing can be done externally. Palliative care has visited to simply put eyes on Audrey. We have been incredibly thankful she continues to have no pain. We have even visited with a social worker who has helped make a meaningful craft to build memories. Audrey continues to play outside, make beautiful drawings, go on walks, rest with Coco, read books on the couch, play Zelda and Mario Cart with her sisters and the list goes on. SO thankful for that.
