Our Deliverer

Audrey ended up having her post treatment scans this past Wednesday due to some scheduling issues. Audrey was a champ and sat still the entire time for her scans. After looking at the radiology report, Audrey's scans showed no recurrent mass. This is a huge praise and answered prayer! We are thankful Audrey was able to attend her last day of school and graduate kindergarten. Audrey had an amazing teacher who recognized her hard work and optimistic attitude throughout this past year. She received the "sweetest smile" award. Audrey was able to conquer her academic milestones, and we are so proud of her. Audrey has quite the testimony and we are thankful for how God has been there through it all and how he has displayed his grace in every step of the way. Thank you for praying alongside us over this past year. We continue to pray over Audrey and her healing. Blessed to have her as our daughter. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer    my God is my rock, in whom I...

Follow Up

Audrey had a follow up appointment with the opthamologist this afternoon and everything is looking to be heading in the right direction. We are able to eliminate and even decrease some of the eye drops! Audrey has been doing everything with ease and is often the one reminding us when her drops are due :) Audrey's vision is improving and with the coming weeks, should continue to improve. We can already see positive changes. Thank you so much for praying over this for her. Her vision will be assessed again early July. For now, Audrey will continue to wear her "fashion glasses" to help protect her eyes. Audrey will have post treatment scans next week. We have seen God's goodness in the everyday. In the picnic under the tree, in the smiles while enjoying ice cream and bubbles, in the cuddles and laughter. God is good.

cataract surgery completed

Audrey had her cataract removed this afternoon. Her surgeon said everything went well and he will see Audrey again tomorrow morning for a follow up. Audrey was a champion. She wasn't able to eat the entire morning/afternoon and did so well with it all-Eye drops, surgery, wake up, all went smoothly. Thankful for the strength that comes from Christ. We had an array of emotions leading up to this surgery. Praying this would help Audrey and not be another "thing" to add to the list of stuff she has been through, especially over the past year. What we always come back to is God's truth. We trust in him and lean not on our own understanding. There is power in truth. Even when our human thoughts can cloud our minds, we don't stay there. We are thankful Jesus is in our hearts, always the same, never changes. That constant is what grounds us. Hope in eternity, we have that hope. Thank you for praying with us. Life can be tough. Continually seeking God's word for growth...

Thankful

Audrey finished up another day of chemo this afternoon. Her lab work looked good and her infection has healed up nicely. We have thankful hearts for that. Audrey will have another chemo infusion next Monday. This will be her last infusion. She is excited to close this chapter and move onto the next. Audrey's cataract surgery is rescheduled for Monday, May 23rd. We ask for continued prayers over this procedure and we are hopeful the outcome will help her. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,     to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly     for the salvation of the Lord. Lamentations 3:24-25 Thank you again for praying.

Change of Plans

Last night Audrey woke up and said her eye was hurting a bit. At that time we assumed that maybe she was thinking about the surgery. After waking up this morning, Audrey's eye was quite swollen. The opthamologist was able to look at her and his first thought is that she has an infection. The plan at this point is to come back in 2 weeks to get a look at her again and reschedule her surgery. When Audrey left for the hospital this morning, she left in good spirits and said "I'm getting my eye fixed today!" She always has this sense of optimism. We are thankful for that. With that said, when anything happens in that area of her face and we aren't sure of the cause, it can allow your mind to wander. A friend shared good wisdom with us this morning and said rather than holding on, we can rest in God's arms.  Thank you for those of you who have been praying over Audrey. We so truly appreciate it.

Cataract Surgery

Audrey's cataract removal is scheduled for tomorrow, Monday, May 2nd at 11:45am.  It will be an outpatient procedure. We ask that you join us in praying for Audrey and her medical team tomorrow. Our prayer is that this intervention will allow Audrey to see much better in her left eye and for her to have a smooth healing process. Audrey is one tough gal. She has been asking many questions about the procedure and she seems at peace with the hope to help her eye.  Again, thank you for praying alongside us.  Be still and know that I am God.  Pslam 46:10 No need to fear, we faith and complete trust in Jesus.

He Is Risen!

Audrey had another chemo infusion today. She continues to do very well with it all. Audrey will have another infusion next Monday. On her week off, Monday, May 2nd, Audrey will have her cataract surgery done down at Children's. Our prayer is that the surgery would allow for better vision in her left eye. She will have about a week off of school after the surgery and a several weeks healing process, as well as lots of eye drops. We are thankful this surgery is an option for her and will ultimately only help her. We were able to celebrate Jesus and His resurrection this past weekend at church and with family. The kids always enjoy seeing their cousins! Thank you again for praying. We are often reminded by so many that Audrey is being lifted up in prayer by those we know personally, but also by many we don't know. So thank you. While we are going through a difficult journey, we are continue to be filled with peace.   "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! Ac...
