Thankful

Audrey finished up another day of chemo this afternoon. Her lab work looked good and her infection has healed up nicely. We have thankful hearts for that.

Audrey will have another chemo infusion next Monday. This will be her last infusion. She is excited to close this chapter and move onto the next.

Audrey's cataract surgery is rescheduled for Monday, May 23rd. We ask for continued prayers over this procedure and we are hopeful the outcome will help her.

The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
    to the one who seeks him;
it is good to wait quietly
    for the salvation of the Lord.
Lamentations 3:24-25

Thank you again for praying.

Jesus remains the same 💛

On June 17th, we learned that the cancer Audrey has been battling for 5 years remains, this is after 2 years of chemo, 2 courses of radiation and local surgeries to remove it.  At this point her team has said there are no curative options. Chemotherapy and radiation could possibly slow the process down, but would likely pose more issues than help. Another extensive surgery could also slow down the process, but would only further complicate Audrey's eye and nose issues. We have decided to let Audrey enjoy life without intense medical intervention. We have had some tough decisions these last few weeks, and have cried tears, but have also been at peace with the fact Audrey's faith in Christ is strong. She has even spoken about heaven and our perfect bodies 💛 Audrey has been full of energy, playing, eating well and enjoying life as an 8 year old. While we don't know exactly what the future holds or the timeline, we will rest in the fact that Jesus is the same yesterday, today ...

Praises and Updates

Audrey has been doing well! She is in the middle of her second grade school year and still loves going to school :) She loves playing outside, crafting, reading, playing with dolls and Barbies. Audrey had her routine scans in December and the radiologist reported no evidence of cancer. Praise God! Recently, Audrey had a visit with the craniofacial team. It was determined that there is some air passing through her throat/nose which decreases her ability to be understood, so we will be pursuing a minor procedure in May. Her doctor said that the potential benefits are worth pursuing it. With that said, nothing is 100%, and there are side effects with the procedure as well...our prayer is that it would help.  Audrey's vision has been steady. Her left eye, where bone was removed is often more irritated, but it is improved with lubrication.  Audrey is a fighter and doesn't complain about much of anything. She has a positive attitude and a wonderful soul. We are thankful that even in...

Psalm 23

The  Lord  is my shepherd; I shall not want.   He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.     He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness f or his name's sake.- Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord continues to work in our family, encouraging us to focus on the day, the day that he has made and we can rejoice in that. He continues to prove his faithfulness, and even in a difficult season, he continues to provide; let us not confuse this by the world's standards, but by Lord's blessing of love, by disciplining our minds to focus faith.  Audrey is doing exceptionally well despite her diagnosis. Each day she is filled with happiness and an eagerness to do well in school. Audrey is looking forward to celebrating her 9th birthday and is planning what she'd like her special day to look like. We have met with the pediatric palliative care team and Audrey made a positive connection with the nurse. We ...
