Audrey has been doing very well overall. She has been regaining strength and energy post chemotherapy. Her little personality is shining through. We are thankful for her continued optimistic attitude through the ongoing follow ups and the side effects post surgery/radiation.
Audrey had another follow up today with the opthamologist. Her vision in her left eye has improved significantly. Audrey's vision is great and prescription lenses were recommended for school and as much as Audrey would like to wear them. We are so thankful for this result.
As for ENT, Audrey has two perforations and exposed bone in her mouth from surgery this past fall. We had been watching this over the past several months to see how they would change and heal. They are very small, but do affect her speech and eating (stuff going up in the nasal passage occasionally). We will pursue getting these issues fixed, but there isn't a guarantee it will work long term (the concern being they will continue to open back up). We ask for prayer and wisdom over this to guide and direct us and Audrey's medical team for what is best for her.
Thank you again for praying. Audrey has been loving summer and enjoying playing outdoors, swimming and exploring. She loves picking berries from the yard daily :)
God has been gracious to us. He continues to gives a spirit of peace. We are thankful for the day, the time together and the strides Audrey has been making. If there's one thing this season has taught us, it is obedience to find peace in the present. Contentment is today. Looking for it tomorrow isn't promised, so why not today?
Philippians 4:11-13
11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
