Next Steps

Audrey has had quite a busy week. She had chemo on Monday, ophthalmology appointment on Thursday and lab work this morning. In the midst of it all she has been able to go to school, play, and have a playdate with one of her best friends :) She was super excited for Pajama Day today at school!

As far as Audrey's cataract, we are going to pursue the removing it. Right now, the ophthalmologist said her left eye has really no vision due to the cataract. Removing the cataract should improve her vision. There is a chance in the future, Audrey will need corrective lenses, but right now it's just one thing at a time. He did her say her optic nerve looked good. We are hopeful to get the surgery done sooner than later. The healing process is about 4 weeks, with no swimming. We would love to have her healed up before the warmer weather comes.

Audrey will have a week off of chemo this week, which is always nice.

Thank you again for praying.

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed." 1 Peter 2:24
 Thankful for our Savior.
2 Corinthians 5:17
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Mark 16: 5-7
He is Risen!

Jesus remains the same 💛

On June 17th, we learned that the cancer Audrey has been battling for 5 years remains, this is after 2 years of chemo, 2 courses of radiation and local surgeries to remove it.  At this point her team has said there are no curative options. Chemotherapy and radiation could possibly slow the process down, but would likely pose more issues than help. Another extensive surgery could also slow down the process, but would only further complicate Audrey's eye and nose issues. We have decided to let Audrey enjoy life without intense medical intervention. We have had some tough decisions these last few weeks, and have cried tears, but have also been at peace with the fact Audrey's faith in Christ is strong. She has even spoken about heaven and our perfect bodies 💛 Audrey has been full of energy, playing, eating well and enjoying life as an 8 year old. While we don't know exactly what the future holds or the timeline, we will rest in the fact that Jesus is the same yesterday, today ...

Psalm 23

The  Lord  is my shepherd; I shall not want.   He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.     He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness f or his name's sake.- Psalm 23:1-3 The Lord continues to work in our family, encouraging us to focus on the day, the day that he has made and we can rejoice in that. He continues to prove his faithfulness, and even in a difficult season, he continues to provide; let us not confuse this by the world's standards, but by Lord's blessing of love, by disciplining our minds to focus faith.  Audrey is doing exceptionally well despite her diagnosis. Each day she is filled with happiness and an eagerness to do well in school. Audrey is looking forward to celebrating her 9th birthday and is planning what she'd like her special day to look like. We have met with the pediatric palliative care team and Audrey made a positive connection with the nurse. We ...

Psalm 91:4

Audrey continues to do well. She loves school, takes daily hikes in the woods, sleeps and plays with her kitten, Coco and spends a good amount of time playing with her siblings. We can see Audrey's growth- her mind, her interests, her zest for life. Each week she is excited to learn her Bible verses and remains diligent in her school work. This is such a praise that she is independent in this way. Audrey had her 6th nasal endoscopy mid February. This past procedure went very well, minimal blood loss and therefore, Audrey was able to come home the same day! Being able to come home the same day was truly a gift. We know the future is unknown, all we can do is focus on the day-each day the Lord gives to us-we can rejoice and be glad in it. Disciplining our minds and understanding, knowing that the work and trials we endure now, will help shape us and prepare us for eternity with Jesus- it is by grace we have been saved through faith. Set your hearts and minds on what Jesus has accompl...
