Home!

First off, we just want to thank all of you who prayed over Audrey and our family over the past several weeks. Everything went as good as we could have hoped for.  Audrey finished her last day of proton therapy this morning! She had a mini celebration afterwards with her proton team and our family :) We are so thankful to all of the folks who assisted and helped with Audrey's radiation. Everyone was amazing and so kind. And we made it home! We are all very happy to be home. We have met a lot of special people along this journey. In addition, our family, friends, church family, co workers, medical team, social media prayer warriors and the list goes on have been such a blessing. We thank God for these relationships. In the midst of it all, we see how amazing God is and how is working in and through people, it is truly beautiful.  We will continue to seek wisdom and guidance with removing Audrey's cataract. Audrey's oncologist said chemotherapy will resume, Monday, March 7....

Flexibility

This morning we were able to meet up with friends local to the area. It is always nice to see familiar faces! During our visit we learned the proton machine was down for the day, which has set Audrey's treatment back a day. Rather than leaving this Thursday morning, the plan is now to leave Friday after treatment. We are praying that things go smoothly the rest of the week. We would love to get back for the weekend, however, we are trusting in God's timing. We have been extremely grateful for the community here. We have made friends with some of the neighbors and the kids adore their friend nextdoor. We'd say then have a future penpal. A sweet neighbor even surprised us with a pizza delivery at dinnertime. It's the little things. We are simply reminded to find ways to show love to others. Proverbs 20:24 Mud, mud, mud. These kiddos love mud 💗

Home Stretch

Today sums up another full week of treatment, next week, 4 more treatments! Audrey is continuing to do well with everything. Her weight has remained the same, so there haven't been concerns! Thank you so much for praying over that.  Yesterday we were able to venture to the Great Wolf Lodge. The kids had a blast! Audrey and Benjamin conquered the big slides with Dad and Hannah loved the smaller slides as well. Thank you again for praying for us. At this time, we are asking for prayers for guidance and wisdom as we begin to pursue potentially removing the cataract from Audrey's left eye.  Promised Land- TobyMac Well, I've run this Earth for many years If there's one thing I know There's nowhere on this side o' Heaven Where streets are made o' gold I've long laid tell my grand illusions Lookin' toward the day that I'll be home I won't give up on this race Broken but I still have faith That this old life is all part of a plan And I can feel it in...

God is Faithful

After today Audrey will have 7 more treatments to go! Her skin is peeling a bit, and she does have some blisters in her mouth, but she has been able to eat with minimal irritation or discomfort. Huge praise! Audrey will have another medical check-up this week including a weight check. Our prayer has been for Audrey to maintain her weight in order to avoid a feeding tube. One day at a time, but we our asking for prayer over Audrey's weight. We have been enjoying our time as a family, we are looking forward to coming home soon. Thank you for praying over Audrey and our family. She continues to display strength.  For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” - Romans 8:38-39.

Getting There!

We are mid week in the 2nd half of treatment! Audrey is enjoying playing outside with her siblings and the neighbors. She is continuing to eat well, which is a praise and talks minimally about her mouth hurting, so thank you for praying over that. Audrey lost her first tooth, she has been excited to tell everyone about it. She had her port flushed this afternoon and the nurses said she was a champion, she is very strong.  We continue to focus on one day at a time. We often reflect on the fact we can do this because of God's grace. Seeking to know him more every day. Thankful for Jesus, without him, what can we place our hope in?

Side Effects

Yesterday was a beautiful day! The temperature was somewhere around 50, so we tried to take advantage of the beautiful weather. We went on various walks in the neighborhood and even ventured to the local park. Audrey is nearing the mid way point in her treatment. Her left cheek it starting to look pretty pink and she has said it hurts. We are applying cream several times a day to help with the external dryness. We are asking specifically for prayer that her cheek would have the least amount of pain as possible. Overall, Audrey is still eating well and playing. She is able to complete all of her school work daily. Audrey had an eye appointment this past Friday and we learned she has a cataract in her left eye. This is a result of radiation the first time. She will often say that eye is blurry, so we will likely pursue removing the cataract at some point to help her vision. Thank you for praying over Audrey. She is a happy gal, continues to smile. We are blessed to be her parents and cal...
