Next steps

Over the past week, Audrey has been been healing well and has been able to continue to do the things she loves. She celebrated her 6th birthday this past Saturday! Also, we were thrilled to be able to go to church this past weekend as a family, which was very nice. This morning after reaching out to Audrey's oncologist, we were able to discuss the pathology report, via email. While the results are not entirely negative or positive, we are continuing to pray and think about the next steps in this journey. The ability to remove the tumor was a big step in the right direction, however the margins were not excellent. The oncologist said the pathology report showed the tumor had a partial response.  There are additional chemotherapy regimens to explore and it is likely Audrey will need proton radiation in the future. We just want to do what is best for Audrey both for her best chance of survival, but at the same time allow her to live the best and healthiest life she can (with all thing...

Continued Healing

Audrey had her follow up appointment with ENT this morning. The doctor said everything is healing nicely and Audrey's mouth/eye area is continuing to heal, praises! Audrey is eating mainly soft foods at this point. Her mouth is still sore and her eye is recovering (just red and watery). She is playing and having fun at home. She is continuing to do school at home as well. We are currently waiting on the pathology report to determine next steps regarding chemo and potential proton radiation. Audrey will see the ENT surgeon again mid December. Thank you again for praying for Audrey.  Commit your way to the LORD; trust in Him, and He will act. (Psalm 37:5, ESV)

Give Thanks

Audrey is going to be discharged today! Her medical team this morning said she is doing great, she is drinking, playing, and up walking around! They said the inside of her mouth is healing nicely. Part of our prayer has been for Audrey to heal well and we are so thankful that every day she is continuing to feel better and feel more like herself. Psalm 9:1 Next up, she will have a follow-up appointment this upcoming Tuesday with her ENT doctor. We will focus on resting and drinking over the next several days. Thank you again for your prayers. People often comment on how tough Audrey is and she just really is. God has really blessed us with an amazing daughter who has amazing strength. Audrey continually displays an attitude of positivity and peace.    Also, we believe we added an e-mail subscribe feature so you can get an e-mail when an update is posted.

Rest Is Best

Audrey's surgery completed around 7:30 p.m. yesterday. The surgeons said everything went as good as they had hope for. The tumor removal was successful. With that said, Audrey is very sore and swollen on the left side of her face where the surgical procedure was done. For the next 3 to 5 days she will be on a liquid diet and then can start consuming soft food. She is definitely a trooper and is doing well with everything. The goal right now is just to get her to keep drinking so she can come home to rest and heal. Thank you again for those of you who are praying for Audrey and our family. These times can lead to a roller coaster of emotions but we are reminded of God's faithfulness and the peace that surpasses our understanding. We know that Jesus is the same yesterday today and forever. We focus on the empty tomb and are so thankful for what Jesus has done for us. It is by His grace that we are able to do all things through Christ who gives us strength.

Happy Tears

We cannot thank you enough for those of you who have reached out to let us know you are praying for Audrey and our family today. It brings us tears of happiness to know we are surrounded by such a prayerful community of fellow Christians who know and trust in the Lord our God. Audrey's surgery has been officially scheduled  at 2:40 p.m. the surgery may take up to 5 hours. We are so thankful for our family who makes the balancing act of all the moving parts and pieces possible. Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Also, shout out to Benjamin! It is his birthday today :) happy 8th birthday Benjamin! We love you so much.

Give Thanks

Audrey had lab work on Monday morning and they came back great! We are currently taking a break from chemo, so we decided to send Audrey to school for the next week :) She has been looking forward to this for a long time. Audrey will have surgery this upcoming Tuesday to remove the tumor. Audrey will then spend 3-5 days inpatient for observation and recovery.  Please join us in praying for Audrey on Tuesday, November 16th at 12pm. We are so thankful to see Audrey home and doing the things she loves right now. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

All Things Work Together

Audrey has been home since Friday evening and each day she is gaining strength. This morning, Audrey asked to do some school work, which is awesome! We are so thankful for this progress. This week we will get labs a couple of times and take it easy at home. Thank you again for praying; we say this often, but it means so much. All things work together for good to them that love God. — Romans 8:28 "Both nations and individuals have tried Christianity and abandoned it, because it has been found too difficult; but no man has ever gone through the crisis of deliberately making Jesus Lord and found Him to be a failure." Oswald Chambers  The Love of God—The Making of a Christian, 680 R

Home

Audrey moved from the ICU to the oncology floor this morning around 5am. She started eating and drinking more and even did a couple of laps! Doctors decided she could come home since her labs have improved and have been stable, praises! Audrey was discharged this afternoon around 4pm and is on her way home :) We are really thankful for this step and are praising God for every victory! Thank you again for praying. Also, big thanks to Magic Yarn 🧶 for this beautiful Anna Wig!

One Day At A Time

This morning Audrey had a MRI. Shortly after she was extubated and was able to drink some clear liquids. Audrey was able to rest peacefully. She has been waiting for a slice of bread and we just got the okay! She is currently resting watching Tinkerbelle. Thank you again for praying for Audrey and our family.   Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.  Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:1-2

Take Heart ❤️

On Monday morning around 4:30 a.m., Audrey began to have another nosebleed. We weren't exactly sure how long it had been bleeding and her platelet levels were still in lower range when she left the hospital Sunday evening, so we decided to take her to NCH. Audrey is currently in the ICU due to continued concerns for bleeding. After several attempts to pack her nose and remove blood clots, around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday night the decision was made to take her to the OR to figure out the culprit of the nosebleed.  The surgeon was able to cauterize some vessels and gel pack one side of her nose. With all of that said, Audrey is currently under light sedation and close monitoring with hopes to have a MRI at some point today. We would appreciate your continued prayers through this uncertain time. We know we serve a sovereign God, who loves Audrey very much. This season is very trying, but we are extremely thankful for your prayers and support through this all of this. John 16:33 “I have told ...
