Trials

This past Friday Audrey went down to Children's for a blood transfusion. After several hours at the hospital Audrey arrived home feeling quite tired. She was excited to go to bed that evening. Saturday morning Audrey woke up refreshed, she had a slight glow in her cheeks and enjoyed her day playing with her siblings. We even took a hike at our local school. That time together as a family was wonderful. We enjoyed the beauty around us; the leaves, the sound of birds, the wonderful sound of the creek. Sunday morning, we were thrilled to have Andrew home from work and enjoy a day together with all 6 of us. This time seems limited with everything going on, so when we get it, we cherish it. Shortly before lunch, Audrey's nose began to bleed. For about 30 minutes, she laid down, then it would stop, but it would shortly start up again. We decided to take her to the local hospital to check her labs. Her lab work indicated her platelets were very low and a transfusion was pertinent. Du...

Do not be anxious about anything.

Audrey gets labs drawn typically twice a week.  Her lab work today showed she was anemic and that her immune system is essentially non-existent.  We will be going down to Columbus tomorrow for several hours for a transfusion. Going through life we are presented with many opportunities to be anxious.  We want to encourage you and share from the book of Philippians.  We keep in mind that the author of Philippians, Paul, was likely imprisoned or in chains while writing this: Philippians 4:6-7   6  Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Shout out to those that donate blood, plasma, platelets, etc!!!

Home with family and loving it

10/26/21 Audrey came home Saturday morning and it has been a wonderful family reunion.  The 6 of us being all together is such a wonderful feeling. Sunday was a our first full day together in some time.  We did some apple picking and had a great time.  The kids seemed to love it.  Labs Monday show Audrey's immune system and blood counts are holding strong at this point.  We continue to check labs a couple times a week here locally with the next scheduled visit to Columbus not till Nov 4th for scans.
